Guest Post : Spring Favorites by Ellie

Our next Guest Post comes from Ellie, Assistant to the Buyer for the Paper Division.  She's stepping in today to give some tips on transitioning into warmer weather.  Take it away Ellie!

As a born and raised Chicagoan, nothing makes me more excited than the end of winter. I’ve opened my windows and stuffed the term “polar vortex” in the back of my closet.  In the midst of shedding my winter layers I’ve picked some of my favorite Museum Shop products to help me dump those winter blues.

I’ve changed my matching wool muffler, hat, and gloves for something a little lighter. This 100% silk scarf is hand made with a hint of tie dye. It’s a great accent to any outfit (even for someone like me who tends to wears black year round).

It’s farmer’s market season, which means fresh flowers! I took my flowers up a notch (literally) with this hanging glass vase.   Not only is it functional, it will add a unique and dynamic element to any room or window.

If you’re like me, cheese is a necessity for any occasion. This cheese board is light weight and perfect for a picnic or entertaining al fresco.

Why not change your wall art with the season? Bring spring inside with the beautiful Katsukawa Shunsho, Chrysanthemums reproduction. This canvas piece looks great over a sofa or above a mantel. It’s subtle, elegant and will match with just about any decor.

All these unique products will give you a great kick start to the spring season! I know they’ve helped me emerge from my apartment and feel a little lighter!
