Guest Post : Zen-spiration by Anne

Each individual in our office has a unique voice, the collaboration of which strengthens the diversity of our product assortment and further enhances our mission of cultivating the appreciation of the arts.  We are excited to begin sharing some of these voices here on our blog!  Our first Guest Post comes from Anne!

As a recently certified yoga teacher, the objects I appreciate and prefer to surround myself with are increasingly congruent with the philosophies I work to integrate into my practice and life. When I'm sourcing for our various retail channels, product that is socially responsible and sustainable energizes me. In addition, I have an affinity for whimsy and anything that can add a bit of creative inspiration and aesthetic beauty to the quotidian. I'm grateful that my job allows me this level of engagement with art and design and the opportunity to share our unique assortment with our customers!  Here are some of my favorites:

Abstract Woman Sculpture
Seated in a meditative "Sukhasana" pose this sculpture would be the perfect addition to any yoga studio or home practice space.

Lotus Blossom Vases
These vases are a beautiful embodiment of the ideology of spiritual awakening and enlightenment symbolized by the lotus flower.

Flower Corsage Necklace in Pale Rose/Sand (Coming this Spring)
Practice Ahimsa, or compassion for all living beings when you wear this socially responsible jewelry set. The Flower Corsage Necklace and Earrings are thoughtfully made, fairly traded and ecologically conscious, using orange peels and tagua seeds.

Moonlight Waves Chimes
These wind chimes can provide the soundtrack to your relaxation and an element of impeccable design to your home or outdoor space.

Kyoto Gardens Book (Coming this Spring)
This book provides cultural, historic and aesthetic context for Japanese gardens: traditional spaces for contemplation and meditation.  It also looks fantastic on a coffee table!

Tree of Life Bookends
I love these intricately carved bookends featuring the "tree of life" motif symbolizing the interconnectedness of all forms of existence.

Orange Sherbet Silk Infinity Scarf (Coming this Spring)
The color orange is associated with the sacral chakra, or energy center of confidence and creativity. If you're not interested in energy meridians then this scarf is simply a lovely, lightweight and voluminous accessory for Spring.

Thank you for reading and Namaste!
